| Beautiful, Impregnable Eyrie! |
I was perusing some Song of Ice and Fire fan sites and came across a very beautiful artist's concept of The Eyrie, castle of House Arryn. It's part of a 12 castle series by artist Ted Nasmith done for the 2011 Song of Ice and Fire Calendar.
I thought to myself "hey this is something I'd like to have as a keepsake" ... ok sure the year's half over now, but still, this is great artwork...
But then I went and looked on Amazon (see link if you want to find sellers or purchase this calendar) and was blown away at the high price tag. About $85.00 was the cheapest I could get it. Really?! It's a calendar for crap's sake, not a signed limited addition collector's book or something! In six months it won't even be any good anymore except to look at the outdated month's artwork. Pfft.
I think I'll just wait until Christmas and hope Santa brings me the 2012 Calendar. Expensive stocking stuffer.
